So what is it really like to be a sex worker?
The media and parliament would like you to believe their depiction of sex workers as victims, drug dependent, coerced and trafficked, but that’s not an entirely accurate, or honest, representation. All the workers collaborating on this project have chosen to work in the industry.
There are many sub sections within the sex industry, and as per any industry there are varying levels within each sub section, so it’s not an easy job to try to analyse figures to calculate the percentage of consensual vs. non consensual/unhappy workers. We are in the process of undertaking a mass survey, the results of which will be analysed and posted here in the not too distant future….
